Accessing Healthcare for Women of Color

The healthcare system can be daunting for many of us. Many struggle with what questions to ask and how to find the right healthcare provider for their needs. Others have barriers like no health insurance or their health centers/hospitals are miles away. Women of color, especially Black women, experience many health disparities as compared to their white counterparts.

My hope is that my conversation with Nurse Midwife, Dr. Jacquelyn McMillian-Bohler, and Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Angela Richard-Eaglin will provide you with enough information to empower you to seek out preventative care, advocate for yourself by accepting nothing less but respectful care, and of course, never being afraid to make an official complaint when warranted.
